The Island Art Centre.

island.arts.centre.JPG

Since I’m on the road early in the morning which means it’s still dark and there’s little or no people about. I set up my tripod on the path on the other side of the River Lagan to capture the lights and also the weir on the river. The Island art centre is in Lisburn in county Antrim, Northern Ireland. This part of the river is where the coal barge’s use to bring coal into the city from Belfast. There are no boats on the river now but the tow path that runs along it’s length to Belfast is now a walk/cycle path. It covers around 13 mile and takes in the Lagan valley regional park.

A Cold & Misty morning

So a misty morning greeted me with a heavy frost coating the world in fine jewels. Just me and the dog out for a morning stroll, with a 17-70 zoom on the camera we headed out. With the mist acting like a giant softbox the landscape soft on the eye, my old pal and I headed off down the road.

Yes this is a road, one of the many little L roads in Ireland.

A stop at one of the small loughs and it’s soft on the eye with the mist still down.

A beautiful morning in a grand part of Ireland where the pace is slow and the company great.

Nobody Waiting

Wallace Park at 6.20am on a cold damp morning with the star’s shining  in a clear sky. Just after this photo was taken. a group of joggers passed by and the dog walkers arrived. So a short chat with a couple wanting to know how I can take photo,s in the dark. It was time to pack up and head to work.

Thank you for viewing.

Street light

365src06.11.2016z2.JPG

Due to early mornings being dark and the light is fading when going home the only time I can shoot is when its dusk or dawn. So have been out early some mornings while on my way to work. This way taken in a car park with the street lights illuminating the tree. With a long exposure and a light wind you can see movement in the branch’s and not the jogger that ran in front of the camera.

Thank you for visiting

Rock-faces.

365src05.11.2016z2.JPG

While looking at this scene I was amazed to see faces in the rock, ok I know its just light and shadows but to me they are there. Anyone else see them? Our you might see something different, like a lump of rock..

This was processed  to mimic kodachrome 64 film. Well known for its punchy colours and loved by many 35 and 120 film photographers.
