Frog hopper/ Spittle bug

These are common this time of year, it is often referred to has Cuckoo spit has it appears around the same time has the Cuckoo. Its produced by the froghopper nymph which lives by sucking the sap from the plant its on.

This was a rain drop on the window. using a 105mm macro’s lens and a set of extension tubes this is the view through it. Always keep an open mind, and try new things.

This fly landed on a white towel and posed for the camera, have to say it was a great model. Nothing annoyed it and I could take my time setting up for the shots. Not a glamour model to some but then how do we look to them.
